Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Al-Qadisiyah Journal for Veterinary Medicine Sciences (QJVMS) is a printed and electronic peer-reviewed international journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, scientific integrity, and professional conduct. To ensure the publication of high-quality research, the journal follows strict ethical guidelines and publishing standards. Articles found to violate these principles may be rejected, corrected, retracted, or removed, regardless of when the misconduct is identified.All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process, ensuring that reviewers remain unaware of the authors' identities and authors remain unaware of the reviewers' identities. This process promotes fairness, objectivity, and unbiased evaluation of scientific work.To safeguard the originality and integrity of published research, all submissions are screened using Turnitin plagiarism-detection software. Manuscripts are also assessed for potential ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, and unethical use of animals in research. Any suspected cases of research or publication misconduct will be investigated thoroughly and managed according to internationally recognized ethical standards.The publication of scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals is fundamental to the advancement of knowledge and the integrity of the scientific record. Published research reflects the quality of the work conducted by authors and the institutions that support them. Therefore, all participants in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—must adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior.QJVMSS is committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical publishing practices and takes all necessary measures to prevent publication malpractice.Authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher share responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and are expected to comply with accepted principles of publication ethics throughout the submission, review, and publication process.


Publishers’ Responsibilities
The Publisher and Editorial Team of the Al-Qadisiyah Journal for Veterinary Medicine Sciences (QJVMS) are committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and scholarly integrity. QJVMS employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and adheres to strict ethical policies to ensure that editorial decisions regarding submitted manuscripts are fair, unbiased, and based solely on scientific merit. The Publisher and Editors take all reasonable measures to identify and prevent the publication of manuscripts involving research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices. All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin plagiarism-detection software. QJVMS does not tolerate any form of publication malpractice. Allegations of misconduct are handled in accordance with the recommendations and procedures established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). When necessary, the journal will publish corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, retractions, or apologies to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.


Editors’ Responsibilities
Publication Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board are responsible for determining which submitted manuscripts will be published. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's originality, scientific quality, significance, methodological soundness, clarity, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.
Manuscripts are evaluated without discrimination regarding the authors’ nationality, race, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs. Editors shall also consider applicable legal requirements related to copyright infringement, plagiarism, defamation, and research ethics.

Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Information regarding a manuscript may only be disclosed to the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors and Editorial Board members shall not use unpublished information, data, or ideas obtained through submitted manuscripts for their own research or personal benefit without the explicit written consent of the authors.

Editorial Board Manuscript Submissions
To ensure transparency and avoid conflicts of interest, manuscripts submitted by Editorial Board members, Associate Editors, or the Editor-in-Chief are handled independently by an editor who has no involvement with the submitted work. Such manuscripts undergo the same rigorous double-blind peer-review process as all other submissions, and publication decisions are made solely on the basis of scientific merit and reviewer recommendations.


Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making informed editorial decisions and helps authors improve the quality and clarity of their manuscripts.
Promptness
Reviewers who feel unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or are unable to complete the review within the requested timeframe should promptly inform the editor and decline the invitation.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use unpublished information from manuscripts without authorization from the editor.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, professionally, and constructively. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate. Reviewers should provide clear, evidence-based comments and recommendations.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published or submitted works known to them.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, financial, institutional, or personal relationships with the authors or affiliated organizations. Information obtained through peer review must remain confidential and must not be used for personal advantage.


Authors’ Responsibilities
Reporting Standards
Authors must present an accurate, honest, and transparent account of their research. Manuscripts should provide sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. Fabrication, falsification, or intentional misrepresentation of data constitutes unethical behavior and is unacceptable.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to provide raw data, supporting information, ethical approvals, or other relevant documentation for editorial review. Authors should retain research data for a reasonable period after publication and make such data available when appropriate, while respecting confidentiality and legal requirements.
Originality, Plagiarism, and Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must submit only original work. The work and ideas of others must be properly cited and acknowledged. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is unacceptable. All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin before entering the review process.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal or publish substantially similar research in multiple journals. Such practices constitute unethical publishing behavior.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study. All individuals who meet authorship criteria should be listed as authors, while those who contributed in other ways should be acknowledged appropriately. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and have agreed to its submission and publication.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could influence the interpretation of their results. All sources of funding and support for the research must be clearly stated.
Ethical Approval and Animal Welfare
Research involving animals must comply with internationally recognized animal welfare standards and must have received approval from the appropriate institutional ethics committee. Authors must provide details of ethical approval within the manuscript.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the Editor-in-Chief and cooperate fully in correcting or retracting the publication when necessary.
